Formosan Sweetgum (Liquidambar formosana)

In May 2026 these lovely Liquid Amber trees unfortunately had to be removed by council in the township of Bangalow, because of roots and destruction, its never easy to say goodbye, so before council removed each tree, I spent several days working on the growth rings.

All work is done by hand, working with each tree, understanding, uncovering  its life a little better. 

The finished result is a portrait of the trees life.
